Installing a Game Template
Start from a complete game, like the Combat Game template, instead of an empty Baseplate.
A game template is a complete, playable starting point for a Roblox game. Where a library adds one system to your project, a template gives you a whole game to customize. This guide installs Combat Game, a sword combat template, from start to finish. Other templates follow the same steps.
Before You Start
- A Superbullet project with Studio connected. See Installation and Connecting Roblox Studio.
- Roblox Studio open and signed in. The template becomes a new on your Roblox account, and its animations and sounds are uploaded to your account. Neither costs Robux.
Pick a Template
Open the Game Templates Picker
Superbullet shows the Game Templates picker when you click Close on the finished setup checklist. Use the search field or a category filter (All, Tycoon, Simulator, Obby, RPG, Horror, PvP, Social, Story, Other, Strategy, Survival), then click a template card. Empty Project skips templates and starts from a blank project.
Check the Details and Use the Template
The template page shows a preview, a description and a summary line. For Combat Game: Genre Rpg, Places 1, Price Free, and its download count and version. Scroll down and click Use This Template.
Publish the Template as a New Experience
A template doesn't go into the place you already have open. It comes with its own place file, which you publish as a new experience. Superbullet walks you through this in the Create Your New Experience window.
Open the Template Place in Studio
Click Open Place in Roblox Studio. Studio opens the template's place file,
MainGame.rbxl, in place of the one you had open, so save your Studio work first.Publish It
In Studio, choose FilePublish to Roblox (or press Alt+P). Type a Name (1) and click Create (2). Keep the default of creating a new experience; don't use Update existing experience.
Turn On API Access for the New Experience
A new experience starts with its own settings. Open FileExperience SettingsSecurity. Allow HTTP Requests is already on in the template; turn on Enable Studio Access to API Services and click Save.
Connect the Plugin in the Template Place
The Superbullet plugin starts disconnected in the new place. Open it from the menu bar with PluginsSuperbulletAI PluginsSynchronizer, then click AI Disconnected (1) and Rojo Disconnected (2). Both turn into AI Connected and Rojo Connected.
Detect the Place ID
Back in Superbullet, click Detect from Studio (1). When the fills in and Place ID detected! appears, click I've Published - Continue (2).
Detect from Studio only works while the plugin shows AI Connected in the published template place. The window also lists a manual way through Studio's Asset Manager if you need it.
Apply the Place ID
Review Place IDs lists Main Game (Start Place) with the ID Superbullet found. Click Apply IDs.
Upload the Template's Animations and Sounds
The template's animations and sounds have to live on your Roblox account before they play in your game. The Provide Roblox Asset IDs window lists them: 10 animations and 5 sounds for Combat Game.
Upload Everything
Check that the account at the top is the Roblox account you want to use, then click Auto Upload All. Superbullet uploads each file one by one and shows Auto-uploading assets with a progress bar. It takes about a minute.
Validate the Asset IDs
Every row now has a Roblox and the status Uploaded ✓ (Not validated). Click Validate All.
Continue
When every status reads Valid ✓, click Continue.
Superbullet then opens a chat session named Combat Game Asset Installed, and the AI confirms the install. First-time users also see the one-time screens described at the end of Connecting Roblox Studio.
Reconnect Rojo to Sync the Template
Restart Rojo in Superbullet
In Superbullet, click Disconnect Rojo. The card switches to Studio: Not Detected and Rojo: No Project. Then click Connect Rojo. If nothing happens, wait a moment and click it again.
Reconnect Rojo in the Plugin
In Studio, the plugin has dropped to Rojo Disconnected, and the SuperbulletRojo panel may say it couldn't connect to the Rojo server. Click Rojo Disconnected in the plugin.
Superbullet shows Studio: Active and Studio: Connected again, and Studio now has your uploaded asset IDs.
What You Should See
In Superbullet, both cards are green (Studio: Active and Studio: Connected), your project's name shows next to Rojo, and the chat session is named after the template.
In Studio's Explorer, the template's systems are under ServerScriptServiceServerSourceServer: CombatService, DamageService, StatusEffectService, ToolService, LevelService, QuestService and more.
In a (press F5), you see the Character Levels panel, the Tool Tester with sword_classic and sword_katana, and a first quest. Pick a sword, click Equip Tool and click to swing.
Troubleshooting
Restart Rojo from Superbullet (Disconnect Rojo, Connect Rojo), then click Rojo Disconnected in the plugin.
Click Connect Rojo in Superbullet first, then Rojo Disconnected in the Studio plugin.
Check that the plugin shows AI Connected in the published template place, then click Detect from Studio again.

Templates or Libraries?
| Game template | Library | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | A complete game to customize | One system added to your game |
| Best for | Starting a new game quickly | Adding a feature to a game you're already building |
| When you use it | At the start of a project | Any time |
You can combine them, and it's the recommended way to build: start from a template, then add libraries for the systems it doesn't have.
