Sliding Movement System
Add momentum sliding and auto-sprint, like in RIVALS or Apex Legends, with a free library.
The Sliding Movement System is a free Superbullet library. Your character speeds up into a sprint on its own, and pressing Ctrl while running drops into a slide. It's a step up from your first library: it changes how the player moves and comes with animations to upload.
What It Adds
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Walk, then sprint automatically after a moment |
| Ctrl while running | Slide (tested on this page) |
| Ctrl while moving slowly | Crouch |
| Space while sliding | Slide-jump, which keeps your speed |
These are the library's default keys, from its settings file. This guide tested running and sliding.

What You Should See
In Superbullet, the chat lists what was installed and the default controls.
In Studio's Explorer (search "Movement"), three parts arrive through :
- MovementController: your player's controls, animations and the speed readout
- MovementSettings: every setting you can change
- MovementService: the server side, which checks movement is legit
In a , hold W. A speed readout in the bottom-left climbs to 24 and says Sprinting.
Now press Ctrl while running. Your character drops into the slide, gets a quick burst of speed, then slows and stands back up after about a second:
Seconds (horizontal) and studs/s (vertical). Measured in a Studio playtest with the default settings (R15 character): hold W, then press Ctrl at about 2 seconds.

Change How It Feels
Everything lives in MovementSettings (ReplicatedStorage › SharedSource › Datas › MovementSettings). The simplest way is to ask in chat, for example Make the slide last longer and add stamina. These are the settings you'll most likely want:
| Setting | Default | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
AutoSprint | true | Sprint on its own; set false to sprint only while holding Shift |
WalkSpeed / SprintSpeed | 16 / 24 | Walking and sprinting speed |
SlideDuration | 1.0 | How long a slide lasts, in seconds |
SlideKeys | Left and Right Ctrl | Which keys slide |
EnableStamina | false | Turn on a stamina bar that sprinting and sliding use |
EnableSlide / EnableCrouch | true | Turn sliding or crouching off completely |
The file also has its own guide: MovementSettings › Documentations › MovementSystemGuide.
Troubleshooting
Check Sliding Movement System is still selected and click Use selected library again. It can take two or three times.
Get up to running speed first; at walking speed Ctrl crouches instead.
